Technology and Nature

We are living in the age of technological revolution. Our lives have become almost entirely dependent on technology. But do we know that all technological knowhow is rooted in nature? Actually, not only is it rooted in nature but is also reliant on creations of Mother Nature. An astronomer can tell us that the earth orbits around the sun at a speed of 67,000 miles per hour. Yet there is no mechanical jerking or noises, oceans churning or objects flying. Now that’s technology. Upon further contemplation, we will come to understand and appreciate that no human effort can develop such subtle, highly refined and marvellous technology. So before we get obsessed and become completely reliant on it, we must learn to connect, understand and respect its very source. As custodians of this planet we want to ensure that technological advancement does not come at the cost of our environment.
